I pass this billboard on my way to work, and I always see/read the same thing. For those who don’t read Spanish, the billboard is meant to read creá mas recuerdos (which translates to make more memories) with the camera lens making the form of the o in recuerdos. However, to me, I read the shape of the camera and see io causing the word to read recuerdios instead of recuerdos, (with no i). Recuerdios is not actually a Spanish word, but interestingly, Dios is the Spanish word for God. So the billboard to me is actually saying make more God memories: Creá mas recuerdios. I thought that was pretty neat given the holiday season.
So there you go… that’s a little insight into the eyes of what a designer sees that many others probably don’t.
